Cashback websites basically pay you to shop. Just a few minor changes to the way you shop and you could make £100's when you shop online.
"OK, why would someone pay me to shop, what's the catch?" we can hear you say.
The cashback website basically acts as a middleman between you and the shop. Companies pay the cashback sites a commission for passing them a customer. The cashback sites tend to pay over the full commission straight to you. the customer. The cashback sites make their income from advertising and their member scheme.
If you want to buy something online or sign up to a finance product, rather than going direct, click to the company via a cashback site and you get paid for it. The amounts range from pennies for retail items to more than £100 for some mobile contracts.
For example instead of heading direct to Argos or Tesco online, first go through the cashback website. When you do this the website is paid commission by Argos or Tesco Direct. In return they reward you with a slice of their commission in cold, hard cash.
There are two big sites in the UK, TopCashback.co.uk and quidco.com, they have over 3 million members each, so can attract the best cashback deals.
You need to register an account on the site, then whenever you buy something online, go to your cashback site of choice find the company you wanted to buy from and click through.
Purchase as normal, it really is as simple as that.
The amount you earn varies from shop to shop. The biggest payments are for big ticket items like holidays, mobile phone contracts and insurance.
The key to saving and earning money from cashback sites, is to use them for ALL the purchases you were already going to make.
It can take a few weeks for the cashback money to appear in your cashback account, as the websites have to wait until they have been paid by the shop or provider.
You can then withdraw the money from the cashback site to your bank account.
A great tip to save even more money on your shopping is to use a shopping combo. Visit the cashback site, click through to the retailer then use a discount voucher and then finally pay for the shopping using a cashback credit card. So two lots of cashback and a discount to boot!
